We accept a maximum on 9 children into this, the first of our rooms. Here children are assured of the carer-to-child bonding which is essential in the early months of childhood. The staff ratio in this room is 1 adult to 3 children.

The nappy changing area is in this room, however there is a separate area where children are able to rest or sleep.

Staff who work in this room take each child's individual developmental needs into consideration by planning for and providing toys, activities and equipment that will encourage their progress to the next level.

At this age children are introduced to a variety of activities where sound, touch and smell are used to stimulate their senses, which in turn enhances their sensory development.

Parents / carers can be assured that staff will follow infants home routine as closely as possible to enable children to settle into Nursery. However, once established, children will usually adopt and follow Nursery routine.

When children are ready for further structure and development, they will then move in with the next age group in the Toddler Room.
