Introducing The Crescent Nursery

The Nursery, which is registered with York City Council and is part of the York Early Years Development Partnership, has an excellent reputation for providing child care services for parents / carers who live locally as well as those from other towns and villages who travel to York to work.

Over the years we have had many letters of thanks and recommendations, which may be viewed on visiting the Nursery.

It is our aim to provide high quality care and education for children within a stimulating and homely environment and to provide a curriculum designed to suit each child's individual needs. To us, caring for your child is not just about providing a building with lots of expensive equipment. It is about the relevant educational equipment, activities and curriculum, the dedication, knowledge, skills and qualifications in childcare and education and building a relationship with you, the parent / carer.

Food

All children attending Nursery are provided with a mid-morning snack, a cooked lunch and a light afternoon tea, depending on the sessions they attend. All food is freshly prepared and cooked on the premises and the Nursery will provide food that meets children's individual dietary requirements.

Staff

The majority of staff hold a professional qualification such as NNEB Diploma in Childcare and Education or equivalent. In addition to these, staff regularly attend courses in order to enhance and update their skills, knowledge and professional working practices. These courses include First Aid, Child Protection, Equal Opportunities and other relevant issues.

Finally, we encourage parent / carer participation and Newsletters are regularly provided giving information, which we think you should know about or would be interested in.
